Simon got a little too wound up and seemed determined to get personal. Eddie is, and many will hate to admit it, exceptionally good under pressure. He had answers for pretty much everything yesterday, didn’t get drawn into Simon trying to be personal and spoke eloquently. Jim was excellent too. Watched the whole debate. Eddie battered Simon. Simon has always used eloquent language to chat shite. It was quite clear in the debate, Simon knows less about boxing than he thinks and that probably applies to football too. Simon likes to project credibility when it comes to football, cos he is an ex owner of a football club. Even when Eddie explained to him only the Boxing Board could pull the fight contractually, he couldn’t or wouldn’t accept it.

The first thing Eddie did was ask Simon what he would have done, which is genius. Instantly Simon was on the back foot and in territory he's not comfortable with as he's not a boxing businessman. He's got by so long over the last year ranting about what Eddie did and criticising every step (because Eddie did make mistakes), but the second he was asked by Eddie what he would have done he came out with the wafflest of waffles you could imagine: "I would have taken the best course of action in alignment with best practise"... basically saying, "I haven't a fucking clue but I'll give a politicians answer"... I'm surprised Eddie didn't smell blood at that point and pushed him for a more precise answer.
