Here’s a simple way to explore symmetry!
Показать описание
Start by cutting out the shape of a butterfly from cardboard and then cover the back with a piece of contact paper (sticky-back plastic) with the sticky side up.
Provide craft resources or other loose parts that can be stuck on to the butterfly. Things like buttons, pom-poms and matchsticks work well because you can remove them and then reapply to repeat the activity.
There’s two ways we went about this activity that you could try...
1. Create one half of the butterfly and ask your little one to make the other side symmetrical.
2. Challenge them to make their own symmetrical butterfly from scratch.
This one can be used several times over in different ways and the stickiness usually lasts pretty well.
Keep all your crafty bits organised in the PlayTRAY and our silicone storage inserts!
