A game already on the budget had "BUDGET CUTS" on fanservice with black voids on DLC outfits and less revealing stuff...though when you finish the game New Game Plus gives you black swimsuits as alternate costumes as a reward which is kinda good.

I really hope Ryza shows up again. I think she's a great and fun character. The ending did show she's looking for an apprentice and based on other Atelier games in the past maybe she'll show up to support the next featured protagonist in the series. That would be great!

I’m looking forward to playing the Ryza games. I picked all three up recently but I’m playing Lulua, my first Atelier game first. Absolutely love Lulua as a character. Who’d have thought that my initial interest in Atelier Meruru would go so far. One day I’ll be able to finally play that too.

1:17 with Mysterious too technically with Sophie 2 last year! which was also between a much shorter gap! (around 4 years worldwide)

I'm still going through it. As much as I am loving it, the game is bloated and drags along at times with stuff that didn't need to be in the main story. Still loving it despite that. I knew I wasn't crazy about the toned down fanservice.

Them toning down the fanservice is quite disappointing and is so weird if you think about it. The biggest reason for Ryza's success was the fanservice aspect of her, why would they start toning it down now?
Little things like poses and slightly revealing clothing really added to the game experience for mundane tasks like collecting. And now in this game where swimming is a big part of the game story, not having wet clothes is not even fitting with the setting on top of it.

Awesome review, YSN! I haven't played any of the Ryza games, but I recently purchased a Steam Deck and I hope they run smooth on it! Maybe find some mods to restore the fan service! ^-^ I'm a Collector so I'm bummed that they've release Collector's Edition of previous Atelier games for Steam, but not this game! I found a custom Steelbook for this game and an artbook so I'll buy them and they'll be my Collector's Edition! I like the fact that she hauls ass when she runs. Luv the combat and visuals! Keep up the reviews and unboxing videos! I enjoy that you show details upclose in the unboxing! 👍😎

Never went for the LE's of any of the Ryza games but do admit they're very nice 👀
Got the games for Switch and were happy for them

The european premium box is thicker and more sturdy and with a border on the front image. The rest of the le is the same

Unfortunately, the west is starting to creep in and influence Japan, which is why fan service is slowly being eroded. The moment I saw Ryza's outfit for 3, I knew this was gonna be the case here also. Which is a shame. Seems like sites like DLsite, and Steam to a certain extent, the places to go for fanservice.

Tecmo overcharges almost all of they're DLC's, I mean take a look at the (many) DLC's for the DOA games, those prices are ridiculous.

Hey, YSN, keep up the good work. But, *its Limited Edition.

IF Compile Heart did the same thing with Sisters vs Sisters - the only way to get the swimsuit DLC is to purchase the digital deluxe version. So they are actually PUNISHING you for buying the physical Limited Edition. There's no way of buying the swimsuit DLC otherwise. I absolutely hate this model and if it continues, I will never buy another Gust/IF Compile Heart game again.

I'm sorry did i hear correctly? Customs opened your brand new limited edition copy that was still factory sealed? As someone who collects sealed copies of games, that would piss me the heck off. Why would they do that? If i purchased an item that was sealed, especially with the intention of keeping it that way, was opened by someone while it was being shipped to me, what do i do? I can't return it cause now it's open, and i can't ask for the person shipping it to do something, cause they did ship it the way it was supposed to be shipped. But CUSTOMS opening it?! I would be so pissed

I own the Switch CE, I mostly agree with your points, it runs well on Switch on performance mode, haven't tried the pretty graphics mode, because I believe the Switch can't run above 20fps in that mode.

I missed out on all the limited editions because all I can find are the Japanese ones and the reason I don’t get them is cause I like the cero logo especially the spines 😭 wish I was able to get any of the esrb ones

This was i got in your review: "The game is less "thyze" and more action... this a bad and good thing at same time. Much more bad though, i have to say". Funny as hell and i fully agree with you man!

Agreed on the quality of the LE. I wasn't impressed with the contents, and I got the grimgrimoire LE just a week later and that box was so much better. Also from NISA but the box was those sturdy kind with a lot more pages in the artbook and soundtrack cd. The Ryza 3 event stills artbook just came out in japan so I'm getting that to supplement the rather thin artbook included in this LE.
