IGCSE Math Core | How to Expand and Simplify Double Brackets

Welcome to this IGCSE Math Review Guide. Learn how to Expand and simplify Double Brackets with Examples in just a few easy steps. I will be solving 3 questions on how to expand and simplify pair of brackets or also known as double brackets.

If you are studying or getting ready to take the IGCSE Math Exam, this channel covers it all. In this series of Mathematical videos, I will be teaching all of the topics from the IGCSE Math Core Syllabus one chapter at a time.

In this video, I will be teaching you guys how to expand and simplify double brackets. When removing brackets, we will take the first term in the first bracket and multiply with both the terms in the second bracket, after that we will take the second term in the first bracket and multiply with both terms in the second bracket. Once that is done we will simplify by adding the like terms

In the video, I will be eexpanding and simplifying double brackets:
(a+b)(a+b) = a^2 +ab +ba +b^2 = a^2 +2ab +b^2
(a+b)(a-b) = a^2 -ab +ba -b^2 = a^2 - b^2
