There are millions of candies in this world in millions of different variations and my mother was no different she stayed with an abusive man because she felt she had no other choice and the damage it did to her children she carried that regret all her life, that’s why when I watched this I wasn’t angry at candy I understood her they were both victims

Forgiveness isn't for his mother, it's for him. Literally his psyche is breaking because he refuses to deal with the trauma that he experienced as a child and forgive his mother for not protect him. It is literally driving him insane.
