HONDA CRF 300L - the design flaw?

I'd say yes.
I remember that I had 31km on the clock and the paint was already scratched. Now with 1200km done, the bare metal is so exposed I had to do something about it. It's a prototype, but I am getting somewhere. The cheapest alternative is around 25 euros + shipping + taxes = NO GO

I mean come on Honda, if it gets scratched so easily you should put there the cheapest piece of plastic, but leaving it unprotected - NOT COOL.

Mine did the same thing first ride. I'm not worried about it, but the paint shouldn't wear off so quickly. All my dirt bikes eventually do that, and it's never been a problem. Even my 1993 XR250L is still fine with paint worn off sides of frame for nearly 3 decades. It's chromoly steel and does not rust easily.

250L had a cover in that exactly place, they removed it to save weight and this is what we end up with.

Honda.... Glad itsnt "chinese" hahaha ;)
Well, that its a know "issue" and you have loads of cover options to protect that area.
Either that, or you keep "polishing" the metal :D
