You are the real content creator, many people spoke about the flood but not about the aftermath

“Flood control is an important issue for the Netherlands, as due to its low elevation, approximately two thirds of its area is vulnerable to flooding, while the country is densely populated. Natural sand dunes and constructed dikes, dams, and floodgates provide defense against storm surges from the sea. “

What happened to the engineers, etc

We have a lot of rivers & Atlantic sea 🌊 in West Africa, which climate change, i’ll be having a lot of these disasters if you don’t plan properly.

Same thing in Bangladesh.

I strongly suspect that a lack of planning control also has a lot to do with this. The trend in west Africa is to throw down concrete everywhere. We tear down trees mindlessly and give zero thought to ecological preservation.
If we continue to build so recklessly without thinking about drainage the water has to run off from concreted areas. It has to go somewhere. Flooding and erosion are inevitable consequences of brainless Town Planning!

Soludo disappointed!
Hear him try to make excuse for his inaction. So he claims they came with boats to evacuate when the water level was not at the maximum and some residents declined evacuation offer, so where was his evacuation team when the level rose to the highest level?
What preparation did he make in the state for the opening of the dam?
Personally I think Cameroon opened the dam irresponsibly and has to take some accountability, if they must open the dam why do they not build water channels to divert or disperse the released water and secondly since Cameroon is well aware of devastation the dam water is causing why not calculate an optimal flowrate for release of water that decrease the chance of flooding. For example instead of releasing the water over a 2month period they could have released slower over a longer period of time like 4-6months.

Are we not a member of the United Nations?? What has the International community done to assist Nigeria. If joining those organizations does not help us in times of need, then it's of no use to be there.

Wow, this is devastating,
This Governor is proactive God will see you through
This is disheartening that FG is not proactive over anything at all
2012, now 2022 the same old story, God keep our life, 2032 we will see what will happen again in 10years time
