Yann Tiersen - La Valse d’Amélie

A quite heart-warming soundtrack piece, that quite well fit in the vibe of the film, composed by a Breton origin multi instrumentalist, whose career since 1995 is split between studio recordings, music collaborations, and film soundtracks songwriting. Playing this piece was quite a challenge for some time, cause, just as my previous experiment with Argentinian Ginastera, it’s just a chanson, a bit melancholic song, so has to be played more rhythmical and energetic, as soul may’d like to at moments, as well as all the melodically fulfilled quality of the work should be shown. Realising with my mentor, that the ensemble could play the role, was the best idea to realise it - not a very long time was taken to find the person, that was trying his own interpretation of this piece, so the ideas this time were united, in order to make a more exciting product - in some ways might be a more unusual experience, than it sounds in the soundtrack. Would like to thank again my mentor, as well as Anastasia Tymoshchenko for the first steps of realising the project.

Performed by Anastasia Timoschenko (bandura) and Alexander Vladislavov (piano)
