Bought one today. I got 2013 Elite model with leather interior. Only has 6k miles on the clock. I Tried a Mondeo 2 litre 163ps before i went for the Astra as i was switching form a 2004 Mondeo 130ps 6 speed. The new Mondeo is way underpowered. Ford have ruined the performance of the Mondeo to achieve low emissions. The MK3 version was not as refined but the performance was outstanding. The Astra is on par with the older Mondeo for low end torque and acceleration. Thats why i bought it.

I bought a 2 year old, 2.0 sri estate last September, brilliant car and so comfy to drive and rapid, about to chip it to 200bhp,  shame the rear legroom is shocking but my kids are small so it's all good.

Drove my mates gtc 2.0ctdi sri and it felt under powered and heavy. With stupidly big doors.
