Love this list, especially because it's not filled with all the big names that we all know already! I completely agree on Blood & Steel and Hybrid Helix. And I can't wait to try The Dryad's Crown myself, hopefully before the end of the year. Cheers!

Sir, right off the bat you are telling me you've only read 10 indie books lol. I appreciate being included on the list and I hope my next book only improves your view of my work (the next two novellas are being rolled into a single novel as well). The one after this series is going to be a cozy fantasy, so it's heartening to know I'm able to pull it off when I wasn't purposefully going that route when I set out writing it.

I'm currently reading Sealed Empire (bought it due to your interview with him). It's such an interesting world and I can't wait to hit that transition from medieval to sci-fi. The medieval setting is done so well that I can't believe it's going to make that turn.

I haven't gotten to the other books yet, but they have been purchased or are on the list! So many awesome covers and inticing worlds to dive into! I will be starting Wistful Ascending after I finish up Suneater, hopefully in the next couple of months.

If I could offer up another indie Sci-fi to put in your TBR, Vermilion Flames by Adam Fernandez. It's another post Earth setting where humanity has colozined other planets in our solar system. I loved the characters, plot, and the prose is great. There are several times I had to stop and admire how well something was phrased. The audiobook was amazingly well done as well.

Aww, yay, so delighted you gave Theft of Fire: Orbital Space #1 a chance... and loved it! I'll have to check out some of the other books on this list :)

OK the 'fun guy' joke was something I would say, and that's not a good sign. Quite a few of these are on my TBR as well (and I've read a couple - loved Mushroom Blues). I'm deeply honored to be on this list with so many great books!

Vaughn Roycroft’s «The Severed Nation» Trilogy (Historical Fantasy inspired by the Historical Goths and the Rohirrim of «Lord of the Rings», with a pinch of «Dune»in its take on politics and destiny vs free will) and Professor Philip Chase’s «Edan» Trilogy (Epic Fantasy inspired by Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic history and mythology, mixed with South Asian) deserve all the praise they get! 🤩

Now watching these for audio. I loooove Wistful Ascending on audio, so sad that the narrator is stepping off 🥺
