I had no idea how much went into making boots by hand...

Hi friends! In this video I tour the Nick's Handmade Boots factory in Spokane, WA. There I attempt the seemingly impossible challenge of designing and making a boot in 12 hours. To say that I underestimated how much went into the process is an understatement. 😅

I'm Anne of All Trades. In NASHVILLE, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. Whether you've got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you've always wanted to do, everything is "figureoutable."

I was a custom bootmaker many years ago and this really brought back some memories. Pro tip: when stitching the soles - approach the curved needle stitcher like you're mad at it, not like you're scared of it. 😂

I watched a pair of Harley Davidson boots sit in a HD shop for 3 years... and finally they dropped the price thanks to the manager... and I walked out with that pair of HD boots. I have had them resoled once. The joys of not only being a shortie (4ft 12inches tall) but also having a size 2(NZ) size foot, and the boot was slightly wider to fit my wide foot.*

Annie, I’ve admired your work for many years. It absolutely warms my iced over heart to see you exploring and showcasing another trade skill. I’m an auto tech, so, same vein, but I’ve been a crafter and maker all my life. You do good works ma’am. Anyone says otherwise is a damned fool. Thank you, thank you so much.
