John, it's the Tinosorb M in those sunscreens that is giving that (very subtle) white cast. Look for videos of black content creators applying any of those sunscreens and those gave them that distinct white-ish purple cast.

Good video! Like someone else commented, the whitening sunscreens all contain Tinosorb M. Not only does it make my already pale skin even paler, it also clings to beard hairs (guy here). I also like the Numbuzin sunscreen, but I didn’t find it any more cosmetically pleasing or ‘filter magic’ than the other newer Korean sunscreens. It’s very expensive currently, so a pass for me. My go-to sunscreens currently are the Purito centella one and the new Cosrx Ultra Light Invisible sunscreen.

I love the way you review sunscreens! Yeah I use mostly Japanese spf now (skin aqua and Nivea), but I really like using Korean formulations in the winter because I get soo dry.

Thank you for this video!! I have tried so many Korean sunscreens that so many other people rave about. None of them agreed with my oily sweaty skin in the summer and they would all just melt off so fast.

I finally tried Japanese sunscreens and they are a total game changer! Turns out the Korean sunscreens I tried were all kolmar formulas. It seems my skin prefers Japanese sunscreen formulas in the summer. I will try out the more moisturizing sunscreens again when it cools off this winter

Kolmar wasn't the manufacturer of the Purito sunscreen that failed the SPF testing, it was a smaller manufacturer (I can't really remember the name but Odile Monod talked about it on her Instagram page)

48 year old Black woman who loves J and K sunscreens. You are right on the money about the Roundlab Birch Juice. On me (combo, aging skin, sweats easily) - it is super moisturizing and will leave a white cast when I sweat. I think it is best for winter. I LOVE the Skin 1004. It's a no brainer that I can use on both myself and my 8 year old without a mirror in all seasons and know we will not look crazy. My second favorite is the Haru Haru Wonder (chemical version in the yellow bottle). I also love the pumps and the PRICE! I still would like to try the Numbuzin 1 sunscreen and the P Calm Water Barrier. I also saw another video where you included the Derma B. I have that one as well, but use it strictly as a body and hand sunscreen. I have my son put it on his arms, legs and neck prior to his soccer games. I love your reviews and personality. Keep being you!

Love it! Watched your other video too on ranking of the sunscreens. I am currently using the Suncut UV Perfect Milk - LOVE LOVE LOVE that one coz i have oily skin and it has a semi-matte finish. i dont become greasy throughout the day and it’s just very lightweight. I have heard great reviews of the Scinic one so I am excited to try it

I'm currently using the numbuzin sunscreen, I LOVE everything about it except the fact that it isn't sweat or water resistant and it's not transfer proof😢 I hope they reformulate it and make it last longer.

I’m one of those people who niacinamide doesn’t agree with and I especially can’t imagine using it multiple times daily…it’s amazing with all the options these day how hard it is to build a routine without it that also works for my sensitive acne prone skin

i loveeee your videos! i appreciate how honest you are and your editing is so entertaining! i don't know if you would ever consider this, and feel free to ignore or say no, but i was wondering if you would do a video recommending tinted sunscreens? i know tinted ones are crucial in regulating and dealing with hyperpigmentation -- which is something i am struggling with -- but if that doesn't interest you, no worries; i know these kind of videos can be really expensive.

The skin1004 is currently my favourite, I have no complaints about it. I also love the tocobo but now that I’m at the end of the bottle and have been using it for a while, I’ve noticed my skin started reacting to it getting red and flush :( their sun stick is so good tho
The same sensitivity issue happened after a couple of bottles of the BOJ too, I wonder if there’s some common ingredient that my skin doesn’t like

great video love your style lol, I'm a person who is in my mature aging skin so of course Odile from monodist is my skincare mentor but i really love Tina Tanaka only because she's the first lady to introduce the J beauty ambassador in English, Numbuzin 1 suncreen is the best, i only buy korean sunscreen only because it's comfortable to wear it every day situation and more skincare support, but if i sweat alot, i were usually buy an ( out door or water proof )
