In this clip we will show you how to create a strong mitre joint.

To create a strong mitre joint between two workpieces, first cut the ends of the workpieces at 45 degree angle. Attach the pieces to your worktable. Drill two holes at a depth of 1 dowel. And another two holes at one and a half dowel. Put glue in the holes, then insert the first dowel and then the second dowel. Tap them with a hammer and saw off the protruding pieces. Finish it by sanding the surface.

I can imagine that if you really had perfect miters, and used dowels for reinforcement, that would work pretty well.

Ratchet straps work well for clamping a square with miters on all 4 corners. Im wondering how well liquid nails would hold a box together made of 2×4 pine and 45's on all 4 corners without any fasteners. None of us cut perfect mitres every time. Thats why everyone knows little tricks of the trade with a little glue and sanding. Ive seen worse mitres than this!

Meh I just tried this. No way to do it without a good table vice. Can't do it with my clamps :[

Who did the mitre STEVIE WONDER??
Ive got a 5 year old nephew who could make a better joint,
Oh by the way, DONT buy a FERM mitre if that is the quality of the mitres it produces.

The finishing of the joint leaves an ugly gap. However, the technique could be valid, just poorly applied. No, I did not "unlike" the video.
