I’ve also just set up a dedicated recording studio in my home. I’m a classical pianist who has done years of gigging; playing a lot of the American songbook standards With a small handful of other players. I’m so used to playing and singing at the same time that I gave up on trying to separate them. But after this video and several months of playing a new church job requiring a click in my ear (first time ever for me!), I’m probably going to put some good effort into a second go of it. This video gives me clarity of the process and the confidence to try it again. Much appreciated!

Thanks for sharing this David. I’ve just set up my own studio and am learning about the process.
What’s described here is exactly the process I’ve used in a professional studio and am now how I’m approaching things in my own.
I also record all my gigs and listen back to assess how I’m going. It’s amazing how much you learn.
