Immediately when tamir talked about kid bearing the sin of pride I thought about luffy and omg luffy is such a great captain he literally has so much empathy and he listens to people around him, he really is light. One moment i remember is vivi telling him to not use violence to get onto the island but instead be respectful and bow to ask for help when nami got sick

Nobody trained kid unlike luffy. Kid was on his own from the start. His crew members are all mafiasos. So if he emerges from the seas again, he will be either too powerful or a dead meat.

I mean to be fair. Luffy had the same situation with kaido. And all things considered, Kid made it this far without having some busted top tier crew, a guy like reigleigh to train him and without some god devil fruit either. Shanks also noted how much damage kid wouldve done. For me its more so about shanks just being him.

I dont particularly like Kidd but I mean Kidd is a conqueror you can't expect him to back down from a fight. Elbaph was the next island for him. Hes not gonna sneak past shanks and be scared of him. This is just what happens when you dont have plot armor. Luffy would do the exact same thing. To be the pirate king you gotta go through the yonko. Another reason oda had this happen is to set up a confrontation between shanks and luffy and likely blackbeard over the final road poneglyph

Idk if kid is a terrible captain. The majority of his crew are from his home island which was split into 4 territories lead by either Kid, Killer, Wire or Heat. And they would constantly fight to try and over throw one another until a new gang killed Kid’s girlfriend. Then they all allied and became a crew. So all of Kid’s crew share his mindset of repeatedly attacking someone until you succeed.
