Only one complaint - ONE "blue blood" program is still standing - Michigan State. Since 1998 - 25 straight NCAA appearances, 15 Sweet 16's, 8 Final Fours, 2 Championship games, and one National Title.

Yeah but UCLA is in it, and Gonzaga, considering their last 20 years performance, is a Blue Blood (in the modern era).

And this is what is wrong with higher education in the US, too much attention to sports, rather than academics. If we want to win as an economy, rather than just as purveyors of entertainment, we need to pull all competitive sports from our colleges and universities, and force them to focus on education, especially in the important STEM fields. Let professional sports develop farm teams, as they do in the rest of the world, rather than wasting the resources that should be spent on education. I got my BA at UCLA, and the amount of resources wasted on athletics was obscene. They would have been better spent on student housing and more laboratories for science and engineering.
