Why is the 556 cheaper/same than than the 406? It has the same hardware but much better screen and resolution. What is the catch?

Are there plans to release an updated version of the RG556 with better sticks? Or maybe with an upgraded chip in the future? Thank you.
To be honest I'm looking to get a new handheld and the front runner is the Retroid Pocket 5 but if Anbernic had some just a bit more powerful I'd buy it.
