The Beelink EQR6 is a compact mini-PC that packs a punch with its AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor, positioning itself as a versatile option for office environments. With an emphasis on balancing performance and cost, Beelink has made some unique choices, such as equipping the device with 24 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. These specifications are somewhat unconventional, as many manufacturers tend to pair 32 GB of RAM with a 1 TB SSD. However, Beelink’s decision to go with 24 GB of RAM is aimed at keeping the overall price more accessible while still offering robust performance.

When unboxing the EQR6, users are greeted with a straightforward startup process, with a helpful note on the packaging detailing how to get the device up and running. Fortunately, the setup is smooth, with no need for workarounds. One of the standout features of this device is that it does not require users to create a Microsoft account, streamlining the setup process further.

The physical design of the EQR6 is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The top of the device showcases the Beelink logo once the protective film is removed. The front panel is equipped with a USB-A port, a headphone jack, and a USB-C port, alongside an illuminated power button that adds a touch of style. The sides of the case are left intentionally bare, a design choice that Beelink claims was made to enhance the aesthetic without compromising the cooling system. Indeed, cooling is efficiently handled by the MSC 2.0 Cooling System, ensuring that the device remains cool even during intensive tasks.

On the back, the EQR6 offers three USB ports flanked by two HDMI ports, which provide ample connectivity options for multiple displays. The inclusion of two Ethernet ports is particularly noteworthy, offering flexibility for office setups where both internet and intranet connections might be needed simultaneously. Two rubber strips on the bottom of the device help ensure it stays firmly in place on a desk or shelf.

In the box, Beelink provides two small informational booklets, along with a grey HDMI cable and a power cable. The slightly lighter shade of grey on the cables contrasts subtly with the darker hue of the mini-PC itself, adding a bit of visual interest.

The EQR6 comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro, and the setup process is notably quicker than on many other PCs, in part because there’s no need to log in with a Microsoft account. However, the initial setup does not include Wi-Fi configuration, meaning that updates will need to be installed manually after the device is connected to the internet. This oversight becomes apparent when many of the icons in the Start menu appear blank on first boot—a quirk due to the lack of an internet connection during the initial setup, rather than a software bug.

The device is equipped with a relatively obscure 1 TB SSD, model number CT1000P3PSSD8. Despite its unfamiliarity, the SSD impresses with its high read and write speeds, clocking in at 5,189.29 MB/s for reads and 4,597.49 MB/s for writes. In the "3D Mark" Storage Test, which runs a series of storage tasks over a 20-minute benchmark, the SSD scored 2,525 points, indicating strong performance for office and everyday tasks.

The AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX shines in the "Steel Nomad Light" benchmark by 3D Mark, designed for lighter PCs like the EQR6. The benchmark results are solid, with the device earning 1,933 points and achieving a frame rate of 14.32 FPS in graphics tests. Although a slight drop in frame rate is noticeable during fast movements toward the end of the benchmark, the EQR6 is not intended for heavy graphics workloads. Instead, it excels in maintaining a quiet operation and providing a range of ports that meet office needs.

The Beelink EQR6 is designed for those who need performance where it matters most. Should the 24 GB of dual-channel RAM prove insufficient, it can be easily upgraded. While the dual Ethernet ports might be superfluous for most home users, they offer significant utility in office environments where both an intranet and internet connection are necessary. Unlike many other mini-PCs, the EQR6 does not come with a VESA mount, but it makes up for this by integrating the power supply within its compact form factor, reducing cable clutter on the desk and resulting in a sleeker appearance than devices like the Mac mini.

Der eqr mit dem 6600h scheint bei 85 Grad CPU limitiert zu werden. Ich habe im BIOS keine Stelle gefunden, bei der z.B. 90 Grad möglich wären. Hast Du eine Idee? Bin sonst super zufrieden mit dem Teil unter Linux Mint.

Das Windows ist doch eine Volumenlizenz und nicht im BIOS hinterlegt. Kann ich einen sauberen Install machen? Der key soll ja am Microsoft Konto hinterlegt sein, wenn man sich bis dahin anmeldet.
