How is this ITV News?
ITV is a British Channel, so, foolishly, I clicked on this expecting to hear some news that I would be able to understand.

I don't care where anyone comes from. I have no objection to anyone's accent. Accents can be alluring, mysterious, sexy, or can even lend gravitas to a situation!
But when your accent is so strong that no one can figure out more than a few words of what you're saying, then I do object!

I'm stunned by the arrogance that would lead a person to think that they can give a news report in a language that they can not speak properly. THIS is a lesson in HOW TO BUTCHER A LANGUAGE!

I can get by in a couple of other languages other than English. I'm more comfortable conversing in Spanush than in French or German, BUT, would I think that I could give a news report for a Spanish news channel?! NO, I bloody wouldn't, because I know that I am not fluent yet! Knowing the words & their meanings is one thing, but IF you can't speak them & be easily understood, you are NOT FLUENT!!

This reminds me of "Ken Lee", the footage of the Bulgarian singer (about 17 years ago) on tje Bulgarian version of Pop Idol. She thinks she's singing Mariah Careys version of "Without You", which she calls Ken Lee, because she thinks the chorus is "Ken tulibu dibu douchoo, Ken Leeee, Ken Lee meju more".
