Travel certificates seems a lot more flexible than future flight credits. I get the concept of booking a high-change flight and cancelling within 24 hrs but still it feels real risky esp. when I'm not adept at measuring the risk factor as an expert like you. And in my experience, the airline personnel I get almost always don't care and are very unhelpful and even uncaring and just have a take-it-or-leave-it attitude.

You are a life saver! I have an ecredit from last year which I thought I had to use by the end of this year based on the expiration date. I haven't been able to travel anywhere or needed to travel anywhere so hadn't used it yet. I just double checked the airline site after watching this video and saw that it just has to be redeemed by the end of the year and can be used for travel through 2024. Thank you! That's $250 I didn't want to lose out on.

I don't know. But it was with United. It was for my parents and me. One of my cousins in Lake Havasu City was getting married in Vegas. But the pandemic happened. And the credit expired. My name was on it because my frequent flyer number was on the reservation. I never did use it. We cancelled the reservation because my cousin's wedding was basically cancelled due to the pandemic. It was a good of money too.

Hello how to get travel united credit? I ordered a booking and immediately canceled I only got a refund to my original payment method? Do you have to wait 24 hours so that you automatically refund to travel credit?

I have travel credit with Southwest. I changed my flight dates, and they just gave me credit and not a refund of the difference. Ugh

I just tried this with a United travel certificate (ETC) but it didn't work. I have a travel certificate expiring Dec 31, 2023. I just booked a flight for slightly higher than its value, then canceled it. My travel certificate was refunded with the same expiration date of Dec 31, 2023 :(

Lady doesnt know what she is talking about. Ecredits are not extended past the expiration date. You cancel a flight that you use an ecredit.. that ecredit expiration date is not, is not extended. This lady has no idea what she is talking about. Ecredits are not transferable.. don't listen to this lady
