Another excellent vid and comprehensive comparison and despite the sarcasm and wit, objective information

I rode about 8000 miles (not kilos) over the last two years between the GDMBR and across Europe with both garmin and wahoo.
I wanted to like the garmin but grew to despise it for many reasons. Two big reasons were the touch screen didn’t work in the Rain and could not see the screen with polarized sun glasses, plus that tiny back button.

**The biggest gripe I have is that every time you want to change navigations you have to pause/reset your ride so if you’re 20 miles into a ride and you wanna change navigation the mileage goes back to zero

I have a list of reason I hate garmin if you care. I’m too lazy to make a video.
I’m a wahoo guy for ever until things change.
Ps - I ride a lot but don’t follow bike channels. Except yours. It’s excellent plus the humor doesn’t hurt.

The one thing about Wahoo units that for me edges out the Garmin (yes, pun intended) is intuitive display of your route on the map screen. I really like how the Wahoo shows your route just ahead in chevrons. This makes it obvious which way to turn, even for a route that crosses over itself.

Longtime Garmin Forerunner user here just assumed I would be buying a 540/840 but I just couldn’t shake the user friendliness, Matt screen and button placement of the Wahoo bolt V2.
Bought one and couldn’t be happier. May try Garmin one day.🤷

I bought a bolt v2 - gees the screen is tiny, had to sell it as I really struggled with the size. The screen on my old 830 was bigger, ended up going for a bigger Garmin.
The roam V2 if your a bit older with no so great eyesight would be a good option if you didnt want to go down the garmin route.

Firstly:😂. Secondly: had a Garmin for hill walking and hated its non-intuitive interface. On my bike you will need to prize my Bolt V2 out of my cold, dead hand.

Bought my Bolt V2 on your previous 'review', never regretted it as intuitive for me, even if it does tell me my power is Toc-H in lighting terms!

as many have commented the Bolt simply works, the app interface to easily drop routes to it etc and general ease of use won me over.

so unless your heavily invested in garmin and use garmin training plans / ecosystem etc i would recommend the wahoo.

I have the Roam V2. I've often thought about ditching it for Garmin 1040 or 1050 for the bigger screen, but honestly, the Wahoo is fine. It's fine. The matte screen is I think one of it's bigger advantages.

How did you get the symbol for BMW cars on the radar readout. That’s gold.

Had a bolt for a couple weeks. There were quirks I couldn't get over. The climbing thingy would mess up and the route would not work in the middle of climbs. It requires starting the app on the phone to get the live tracking to work. Something else wasn't working, too. Went to a 540 and it just... Works.

The Garmin Explore 2 is the best value for money, if you don't mind to lose the training functions of the Garmin Edge cycling computers. The screen size is bigger than the 840 and it has touch. It hasn't native powermeter support, but it is possible to record power data with an app from the app store.

ui/ux and screen of wahoo is much better than garmin, but I just couldn't take those "acquiring gps.." anymore. It tooks forever and requires to be outside, where garmin easily can locate you even in apartment. + Low wahoo processor and laggy workflow, meh

I bought the Bolt V2 when it first came out because it was the only computer at the time with USB-C. That is the only good thing I can say about it.
If you're reading, know that the Bolt V2 is crazy slow at changing screens and reading power.
Get the Garmin. I'm waiting to see if there'll be a 550 coming out soon.

I have a Bolt V1 and a Garmin 1040, thinking about getting the V2 but the V1 just keeps on going and going.
