The escalation of climate change is leading to an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme climate events, which, by disrupting our economy, bring climateflation to the fore. Central banks are therefore facing up to the considerable challenge of how to tackle this issue. In our webinar, "Climateflation and the future of monetary policy" (28 March 2023), we went deep into this debate and discussed how the interconnections between climate change and inflation influence central bank policies.

We were joined by an outstanding group of panelists coming from central banks and academia:

- Donata Faccia (European Central Bank)
- Osman Ouattara (University of Manchester)
- Pietro Cova (Banca d’Italia)
- Maria Nikolaidi (University of Greenwich)

The event was moderated by David Barmes (Positive Money UK).
