★☆★WHO ARE THE HOSTS? ★☆★

Curtis Childs is the digital media producer at the Swedenborg Foundation. While obtaining his degree in communication studies from Oakland University, Curtis experienced an internal battle with depression that led him to question God and his lifelong interest in Swedenborgian theology. After a period of intense suffering, he recovered from his depression with the help of modern medicine, therapy, and a return to the spiritually uplifting messages he found in Swedenborg’s writings. Now, Curtis is applying his education and desire to help others find peace through Swedenborg’s insights by producing and hosting this weekly webcast. Each week, the Swedenborg Foundation team pours their talents and passions into creating a show that focuses on spiritual and societal topics such as the afterlife, angels and spirits, near-death experiences, faith, and more.

Dr. Jonathan S. Rose is the series editor of the New Century Edition, an ongoing project that incorporates the latest scholarship to produce a modern, accessible translation of Emanuel Swedenborg’s theological works. Holder of a B.A. and a M.Div. in religion and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Latin, he has worked for years in the study of Neo-Latin and in Swedenborgian research. He was both chaplain and a tenured professor of religion and sacred languages at Bryn Athyn College before taking on his current position with the Swedenborg Foundation.

I agree that repentance is not enough. We need to change our fallen nature. This is a daily battle. Our love for God has to be stronger that the love of our sin

In my opinion, this is the most important video you have produced. Modern day churches seldom preach repentance as the lead action in getting close to God (true Love, the creator of all things). It only makes sense that evil moves you further away from God (Love). How can you be in sync with the pure joy of Love when you are in direct opposition to it (or any varying degree away from it, based on your will)?
I had a friend (deceased) who always said we must continually practice righteous, or rather, keep short account (continually) of or sin (evil thoughts). The funny thing is, he never gave Swedenborg a chance, even though he constantly said things that aligned with him. I always say, truth is truth, it doesn't matter who says it, as long as the person has a heart of Love.
Thanks for the show.

So nice to hear the mention of God and Jesus and repentance instead of Swedenborgs name over and over.

After years and years of searching, i have journeyed thru many landscapes- Buddhism, Hinduism, Vedanta, yoga, Tantra, Taoism, Zen, Shamanism, Sufism, Gnosticism, Rastafarian, Neoplatonism, and Sri Aurobindo’s Integral yoga, not to mention a vast array of philosophers and psychologists . .. I finally found Swedenborg and all my confusion and restlessness ended . I found the most coherent explanation of Life, of the spiritual worlds, and the law of correspondences helps resolve many misconceptions. Then there is Swedenborg’s profound psychology . Truly he was genius Polymath, psychologist and lastly Prophet .💟✝️💟

Interesting talk, for me repentance did indeed begin with a single step to denounce one evil.. and i prayed that God reveal my own heart to me that i might know it the better. It has led to this daily inner reflection you mention, a sort of daily inventory and examining of my own will. I will say, this work can reveal things about yourself you do not want to see! But it is a tremendous relief to find these things, and to put them down. As Jesus said "my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"

Curtis says, "Uh, I don't want to hunt angels." LOL ((sarcasm, I know). But after my ghost hunting days, I actually began to wonder why people don't create groups to show how angels and God are in our everyday lives. That is something worth watching and something holy everyone could gain from~!

I LOVE that you have Dr. Rose on your new episodes. The two of you combined are very powerful. Great content! I love how you relate this to the Bible and Jesus, in such a way that makes sense and brings a sense of inner peace instead of confusion. I listen to you guys EVERY DAY for uplifting. I'm still a work in progress, and always will be, but your show has truly been helping. It's also helping me examine myself, and over time, I'm discovering I can detect angelic messages and evil messages that come to my mind (spirit) and this is great for growth. Thank you for all that you do!

I’m very moved by the realization that true self examination/understanding of our darkness is needed to have real repentance. It’s not examining our mistakes (past actions) or a blanket “catch all” apology to God, but an awakening to ones incorrect (selfish) motivations, desires.... These videos our gold and an answer to prayer!

This lesson is so valuable all Christians should be hearing this! Curtis this is amazing stuff, I love your channel! I love what you're putting out, it is helping me so tremendously I cannot tell you ...absolutely love it! For the Christians you just don't say the magic sinners prayer and that's it...to get true faith is thru repentance!

Hoarding the snacks from Whole Paycheck, I mean, Whole Foods! As expensive as it is to shop there, that's a particularly selfish act! 😂😂 great show, Curtis and crew. I really gravitate toward the shows that help us deal with everyday struggles toward regeneration! After all, it's the reason we're here...our sole (and soul) purpose!
