It’s an income-based classification — a fact that entrepreneurs often overlook. Look at the instructions for the form you’re filing (Sch.C, 1065, 1120). It’s important that tax filing and credit reports align for business funding so, when the dominant revenue of the business changes, it’s a must to update and verify this update with credit bureaus before applying for new credit or funding.
