If you're struggling to get the ankle of your right leg under your left leg's knee, then I would recommend grabbing your right shin with your left hand and pulling it into place. That's what my instructor taught me and it helps immensely.

Yeah not all gyms emphasize the chomp down leg going straight up in the air like that. I think that's the Machado insignia and I know as a beginner it makes it easier for me to get down the main movements
