Στον όρμο Βούλκο δυτικά του σημερινού Μύτικα βρίσκεται το λιμάνι της αρχαίας Αλυζίας π αναφέρεται από τον Στράβωνα ως ιερό λιμάνι του Ηρακλή,ενώ σύμφωνα με τον Θουκυδίδη, εκεί υπήρχε ιερό τέμενος του ήρωα, το «Ηράκλειον», καθώς και βωμός αφιερωμένος σε αυτόν. Σύμφωνα με τις αρχαίες πηγές, το Ηράκλειον είχε διακοσμηθεί με έργα του γλύπτη του 4ου αι. π.Χ. Λύσιππου, με τους άθλους του Ηρακλή. Στην περιοχή αυτή, 50 μ δυτικά του ναϋδρίου της Αγ. Τριάδας, ο Κ. Ρωμαίος από το 1919 έως το 1922 ανέσκαψε ένα επιβλητικό επιτάφιο μνημείο του τέλους του 2ου αι. μ. Χ., αρκετά σπάνιο ως προς την αρχιτεκτονική του μορφή, στον ελλαδικό χώρο. Ο ίδιος ο Ρωμαίος πιστεύει, επιβεβαιώνοντας τις αναφορές του Στράβωνα και του Θουκυδίδη, ότι το μνημείο ήταν κτισμένο από τα μαρμάρινα αρχιτεκτονικά μέλη, τα οποία πάρθηκαν, περίπου στις αρχές του 1ου αι. μ.Χ., από το βωμό του Ηρακλή.Εχει τετράγωνη κάτοψη με ύψος 2,65 μ. Στο κέντρο του είχε κατασκευαστεί εξ αρχής ένας μαρμάρινος τάφος με μορφή σαρκοφάγου, διαστάσεων 2,30 Χ 0,95 μ. Σήμερα, γύρω από το μνημείο υπάρχει πληθώρα διάσπαρτων αρχιτεκτονικών μελων, ενώ πολύ κοντά σ αυτό, ήρθαν στο φως και επιμήκεις τοίχοι από ναό πρωτοχριστιανικών χρόνων
