Ekko could literally see an ideal world, he was happy in that world with the woman he loved, there was Benzo, Vander and Zaun all much better but he chose to leave that to return to the war. Besides, Heimer probably being so smart knew that something would happen and still chose to help Ekko to return. Jayce suffered a lot but didn't know if everything would turn out okay, Ekko and Heimer instead saw the world they wanted and chose to leave it to save the other.
