What's the most expensive option you've ever paid for?

I think what's throwing it off are the black wheels. Not the best match for the other colors. With silver or maybe even darker grey wheels I think I would like it

Ive got a buddy who could do that paint for $500

Original owner paid $41k for this paint job and now you can pick up a 2014 Ghost from about $80 - $100k easy. Holy depreciation.

Quite clever touch with the airport reference ;) To me RR is a symbol representing long dynasty of dedicated engineers! I'm not that much into their cars but their turbofan engines are a masterpiece.... Enjoyed the video as always! Keep the good work :)

Man when this special edition came out I was in love with it! Don’t think I could ever pull it off, but I love the idea of it.

Drove this exact road a few weeks ago on my way out to Mt. Greylock! Such a beautiful, flowing piece of pavement. Fun every time.

I can't believe I used to live 3 hours away from roads like these! Might honestly be worth flying out and getting a rental to do this drive in.

Very nice! Unfortunately, in this day and age I would be sweating every time I park it outside because bitter and envious people might damage the paint just because it's nice.

So cool seeing you drive the same roads I barrel down in my gr86 sometimes lol

Somehow I never knew the Ghost had umbrellas in the front door. Also for 41k my paint better change to whatever color I want when I want😅

I've always preferred the Ghost to the Phantom, especially with the Phantom VIII. Ihe Phantom is just such a massive car, and new ghosts actually have a slightly cooler grill IMO. And I don't want to be chauffeured, I am an enthusiast so I want to drive my car and the Ghost is obviously better for that. Plus you can't put the awesome paint colors on a Phantom unless you're a footballer.

Got an advert for the VW Id3 while wanting to watch a video about a 6.6L V12 Rolls Royce, oh the irony.

I think i commented it somewhere once at a different occasion: the 1913 "alpine trial" (Austrian Alpine Rally was the official english name i think) is what RR is proud of, and you can even find it on their homepage. (or could when i last checked).
What you couldn't find is what happened in 1912. (when the first RR took part) The "Alpine trial" was an annual endurance race over the steepest roads of the eastern alps in the austro hugarian empire, held since 1910 And People like Ferdinand Porsche himself competed. (winning a team trophy)
3000km over 8 days over not always paved roads. The cars had to stay outside over night and start within a minute of first trying. And then you were not allowed to stop the engine until the days finishline.
Back then it was the hardest trial for cars there was.
The cars winning usually were of manufacturers from the alpine nations. Things like Austro-Daimler.
In 1912 two rich guys from britain wanted to compete and took their RR cars to the race.
They got utterly destroyed. Reason being: the RR were not able to climb the steepest inclines.
(They "famously" finally failed at the Katschberg pass. Which if you drive it today doesn't seem that steep, but the modern road isn't as bad, and modern cars are more capable)
The gearing was too long, the cooling was not sufficient ect.
When they came back to Britain and news reached RR, they went into overdrive and invented the "continental" model iirc.
They took a look at the competition and what went wrong, changed gearing, cooling, added more power... and took the cars to the passes and tested on site! (To prepare them perfectly) And when the 1913 race came about, RR sent cars with factory drivers and mechanics.
Somthing unheard of, in car racing up to this point. And they secured an overall 1-2 victory iirc.
So while they are proud of their 1913 performance, that only happened because they failed the year before and built specific cars just for that race (that they afterwards did make an actual model from though) and that they were the only ones with full factory testing and support at site during the race.
RR basically invented factory racing there in 1913.

Don’t laugh. I have a 97 Riviera with Supercharged 3.8 L V6. You simply do not feel speed and Power deliver is very smooth. And……I paid $4k for it. It was a Garage Queen. Does not look like a passenger ever sat in it. Beautiful Interior.
