It's extremely clear no one in that room knows what they're doing, Professionals should have been called in, Shame on them...!

Very sad that experts were not handling these artifacts

The big lady just tore through it. No one ever actually savored the moment. It's like they were waiting on a package from Amazon. Like wtf are you doing??

I'm not an expert but I've watched many many experts handle exciting new artifacts and this isn't it.

Knowing that things deteriorated within a minute the last time they opened a capsule, why would they not have a conservation team from a museum, or an archaeology department of a university, to open this capsule? Proper handling in an appropriate environment while being video recorded by a trained curator was an opportunity they failed. Such incompetence is astonishing.

I’m so embarrassed by the arrogance of the two women opening the capsule. Reminds me of a mean teacher type that everyone has to put up with, but absolutely can’t stand.

The way they handled that was extremely... EXTREMELY unprofessional.

They should have had actual historians opening that box

That one woman clearly feels the need to let everyone know she is in charge. Just being rude and ignorant to questions. I don't think this was handled well.

Very cool! Unfortunately the talkative front woman (Kate?) was rude and underqualified. She was bossy, flippant, acted as if she knew more than she actually did and loved her own voice. Hopefully she will see this video and think OMG why did I act this way. Why was this box allowed to opened and unpacked in this way? Shouldn't a museum or other professional have been consulted? Why were all of these people in the room? Not that I know anything about opening an 1887 time capsule but this doesn't seem professionally done.

This seems very unprofessional, why is there a kid in the room? Why is this not being opened in a plexiglass box with gloves attached so that nothing including oxygen can get in and contaminated the items?

She's so eager to open it up, like it full of cheeseburgers and birthday cake. You can just tell by her personality no one wants to work with her.

Very unprofessional, obviously these library assistants haven't a clue how to properly handle the artifacts.

The amount of people unneeded surrounding the object being brutalized made my anxiety go through the roof !

I can’t believe she said, ”next time you pack a time capsule don’t put so much stuff in it.”

People disgust me so much these days. Our society is so screwed.

The red lunch tray and handling of the artifacts is just crazy

That bigger lady was rude as hell. If I don't answer you guys, it's because I'm not paying attention to you..

If these inexperienced individuals removed the one longer side board from the four sides of the box, it would've given enough space to carefully remove each item one by one. This task should've been left to professional experts.

WHY SHE IS SO STRESSED OUT ! HER ANXIETY IS CONTAGIOUS. OBVIOUSLY SHE HAS NO CLUE ON ARCHEOLOGY WORK..

What a debacle of under qualified scavengers rifling through a priceless find. 😞
