--------------------------------

Avatar: The Last Air Bender (or ATLA, also called The Legend of Aang in some regions), was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, with Aaron Ehasz as head writer. It was first shown on Nickelodeon before becoming one of the top shows on Netflix. Its sequel, The Legend of Korra (or TOK) has also now been picked up by Netflix.

Unfortunately, DiMartino and Konietzko are no longer working on the live-action Netflix adaptation. The last attempt for a live-action adaptation was by M. Night Shyamalan, which led to fan boycotts and bad reviews.

Some of the other recurring characters in the series are: Katara, Sokka, Toph, Zuko, Iroh, and Azula.
