Curious if he coulda powered out of it with the older HP package. Oh well, guess we'll never know...

Okay seriously this seems to be an ongoing trend where JJ has a top 5 car and then something out of nowhere has to screw him over

And its a trend that screwed him from the Playoffs

JJ reminds me of Richard Petty in his final years in the sport. All washed up. As much as I would love to see him back in victory lane once again I think it’s probably the best option to just retire sooner than later before it’s getting more and more embarrassing with each new season.

His place in the hall of fame is certain and he‘s doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody anymore.

I really thought this was the race he would finally get back to victory lane. Just can't catch a break this year.

Was at this race Sunday and have seen Jimmie win at TMS 5 times. Just proud to have seen him lead both races at Texas and get the pole in the spring. As good as Jimmies car was, no one was beating Harvick. I've seen some dominant cars at Texas but that #4 car was on a rail.

Why can't Jimmie just catch a break for once

Why is everyone saying he has to retire? He still has the drive and the passion to still win races, lead laps, have wonderful sponsorship support, and show his veteran mentality. This was his best race since Chicagoland. When they get this “bad luck” off of there backs, they are going to be very dangerous in 2020. Oh and btw to everyone who is saying that his legacy is “tarnished”, look at Richard Petty. Did he loose any of his legacy from 1984 onwards? Nope. Jimmie Johnson will always be known as one of the greatest drivers in auto racing and will always be known as one of NASCAR’s best drivers.

This ain't about catching a break. Yeah he's had bad luck, but losing control of the car, while understandable, isn't luck's fault.

Why is it that Johnson had to retire from the race but Elliott didn't have to?

I thought Jimmie Johnson was gonna save that one! Now his bad season is getting even worse than last year especially because he missed the playoffs!

Something has to change Johnson his driving styles has to change or his mentality has to change

I'm so proud of him for the run today best in a long time which I was really happy about he could've been up there all day I didn't think he'd do well today seeing where he qualified but he did amazing out of nowhere I was really upset when he spun all of us Jimmie fans know that the day is coming and it's gonna come when he gets at least one more win and when that day comes I'm gonna have quite the party!🙂

“Oh hey, the race is still on, let’s tune in and see how everyone’s doing. Wow! Jimmie’s doing really good! Good too 5 car, kinda slipping back, but hey nothing some strategy might be able to swin-and he wrecked good night everybody.”
