How to Beat Manchester City

Update: Well, it worked as Norwich beat Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola and Manchester City have become a formidable (or is that “Fourmidable”?) force in the Premier League, as the two-time defending champions have beat all challengers at one point or another, losing just 6 times in two seasons. Rafa Benitez talks about the tactics to beat Manchester City as Newcastle did in the 2018-19 season, how to avoid the press, and more.

Tbh to beat a pep guardiola team what you need is a pretty good defense and energetic midfield that can hold out well enough and a pretty quick attack that can just hit them on the counter its how Liverpool beat them 3-0 and how real beat pep's bayern at the Allianz arena 4-0 in 2014

1. Man City is unimpressive when forced to play long out of the back.
2. They are very good at playing out of the back, but you do not have to force them long all the time, just some of the time.
3. Springing midfield traps is powerful. Klopp is the master. Again you do not have to succeed all the time.
4. When your midfield trap goes wrong just foul them to break up the play. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
5. Playing like Liverpool is not within reach of most teams. Watch Chelsea's first game last season against Man City for more accessible ideas.
6. The second half of that Chelsea game shows a very organized defense that made MC uncomfortable, and was not just a low block but a press in the middle of the pitch, where it is possible to be more compact.
7. It sure helps to have a striker that Pep is terrified of seeing in even a 2v4 counter, like Eden Hazard in his impressive back from WC form.
8. If your team is of superb quality (CL contender), you may not need to concede 60+% possession. Now you can really test them in the more usual kinds of muscular defending. They are only so-so at this game, especially without Kompany.

All of these articles, discussions and gameplans even from good coaches show just how revolutionary Pep has been over the last 10 years or so.

how you can beat this Manchester city
1- with high pressing
2- don't let them to passing the ball to each other
3- moving the ball very fast
4- and if you get a chance don't miss it to score
