Places to Visit in London Outside the Centre - Primrose Hill - London History

If you want non touristy things to do in London how about a delightful walking tour of Primrose Hill, one of London's most splendid places to visit in London outside the centre. One of the most serene and beautiful neighbourhoods in London. Joolz (that's me) is a Londoner born and bred and loves to show people around and tell you his personal problems too (if you'll listen).

Julian McDonnell, your favourite London Guide and tourism film maker, starts at Chalk Fram Station where Madness took the photo for the cover of Baggy Trousers. Chalk Fram is also the location of the Winchester Club in Minder.
From there he takes you over Chalk Farm Bridge and down Regent's Park Road and into the village of Primrose Hill which has many cafes.
Then over Primrose Hill itself, which features in H.G. Wells War of the Worlds and donw towards Cecil Sharpe House, the Regents Canal and ultimately ending at The Landsdowne Pub.

Your videos just get funnier and more entertaining. They are tailor made for LWT, Thames or whoever covers that region these days. Why hasn't one of the TV channels signed you up? Have a word with your agent. There's nothing on regular TV that comes even close to what you are producing. Keep it up.

Excellent as always! I can't believe all the things you remember from childhood, like all those school children's names and your dance steps! This is a wonderful area of London! You're so talented.

Thank you Joolz!! Wonderful video. I wish I could afford to be a patron but I'm broke all the time. I enjoy your videos though tremendously. I'll never get to London except through your very entertaining films. Thanks!

The way you present London is timeless and a sweet refresh , really enjoy 10:14 parliament hill, every time i was going there it was an uplift of feelgood and a perspective adjustment for my Londoner life . Kudos to the cameraman by the way .

I went to Primrose Hill school and it was anything but foreboding. My memories of it are warm and full of love.

English Country Dance was once the social dance in North America. It died out in a lot of places in the mid 20th century, but has returned. Most larger Canadian cities have English Country Dance events.

I must say it's a huge nostalgia kick watching your great videos now that I'm stuck in a godforsaken part of the north, ensconced in the mountains and beyond the reach of civilisation! The Gloucester Road segment was particularly nostalgic as I spent much of my time in the early nineties using the facilities at the London Film Co-Op. Happy days
