Linux Hiding Files?!?

Sorta! In Linux, any file or directory that starts with a period is "hidden" by default. It's only cosmetic, as hidden files are really no different than other files, they just aren't generally shown by default with "ls" or in your file browser.

Once you know they're there, it's as easy as adding "-a" to your ls command in order to see them.
