Chanel No. 5 Eau De Toilette - My Quick Thoughts (Not A Review)

Ahem. I'm not sure how many times this has been reformulated but I'm quite certain that the version I have is one of the most current forumals. I haven't smelled the vintage version of this yet.
Thanks for being honest, and no need to apologize! I still cant get myself to like Chanel no. 5. Smells great and fitting on my aunt, but it smells sour on my skin too. Chanel is also a house I tend to struggle with too. I only like Coco, Coco noir, no. 19 poudre, and that's pretty much it.

Chanel is one of my favorite houses. No.5 edp is a struggle for me as well but I love EAU premiere.
Glad to see you back in familiar settings.

I wouldn't mind having a cat peeing Chanel no.5

Awwww, I can hear the birds! How gorgeous!
I like that you have a different opinion. The fact you state how you feel, honestly, is what draws me to your reviews. I appreciate your frankness. X

Your experience with chanel n5 teaches us that just because the perfume is famous and expensive, that doesn't mean that it is for you. Everybody is different

lol i highly recommend you stay away from the EDC since its like the EDTs brash sister. The parfum might work for you. Each incarnation isnt just a difference of intensity. They are completely different scents with slight similarities. The Body cream and Body lotion are also amazing but they also smell different than each other.

I agree with your opinion on this. I hate the EDP even more. But I love No. 5 L'Eau. I appreciate your honesty in your opinion.

I love hearing the birds- in the dead of winter in Canada here.

Allways thougt N. 5 is overrated. Must be the legend created be Marylin Monroe, but I‘m sure this was pure Marketing. N. 5 might fit the Ikone, but I imagine that Norma Jean enjoyed other Perfumes more

I love how honest you are!! :p
I have a similar opinion

You should always follow what currently feel. Everyone is different. You may also change your mind in the future ...or not. Too little skin, too much perfume. wear what you love :)
If one concentration doesn't work, i strongly suggest don't bother with other concentrations. You're just forcing yourself to like the core of the scent which does work out to begin with.
Personally, i rarely smell Chanel no. 5 or 19 in public. I would love to smell this on other people. The scent trails of these classics are very well done and not intrusive like some of the modern headache inducing scents nowadays.

What a gorgeous setting!
I've wanted to love Chanel No. 5 my whole life, but it's dreadful on me. All I get from it is the smell of hairspray in the 60's and 70"s.

I think some houses are great on certain people and some don’t work at all. For instance my sister can wear anything by Dior! She smells wonderful in all their frags, if I put on Dior, I drink something awful and get a headache. I blind purchase Addict expecting to love it, nope I ended up giving her the bottle.
She can’t really wear Chanel. I can. I guess we are even. Lol

Love love the chanel no5 edp, the edt only lasts 10 minutes on my skin theres not much elsei like from the house, beige and sycamore are ok, would like to try the new Paris range thow

I don’t like it on me, bc of the aldehydes at the start, and for the rest of the wear it’s too floral. On some people it’s an amazing scent! Skin chemistry really does matter.

Gotta admit that I too don't like No. 5...those aldehydes just don't play well to my nose. If you're looking for an aldehype perfume from this "classic" genre than is stuffing IMO...then try Gres Cabochard - lovely bottle, lovely scent and inexpensive too. Cheers.

Love your videos, babe! Keep it up please!

I have not smelled Chanel No 5 in a long time. I didn't like it back then. I may sniff it again to see if my older nose feels differently.
I don't like the super popular Shalimar from Guerlain either. I also am not a fan of Dolce and Gabbana's The One, which so many people love.
It is OK to not like a popular fragrance. We like what we like. Our tastes should please us, not others.
