Got this today, you are a lifesaver. Got it for 70$ and it cleans really well but cleaning the vacuum itself is the worst part of it lol

Very helpful. I could not find it last screw to pull out and fortunately, you made a note of it in your video.

Just purchased. After I vacuumed the area rug, I then shampooed it as instructions. Once done, I cleaned the dirty tank. Refilled the water tank with warm water and went over the rug again an 2nd time and you won’t believe how dirty the water was again. It had been cleaned a year ago and have no pets. It sure did a great job; letting the rug dry completely then I will vacuum again before returning the furnitures. If you clean the machine right away when you’re done, it will come out as new. Yes I did rinse it in the sink with a tap sprayer. Just be careful to not rinse where the motor is, that’s all. I wish I could send you a picture…and I’m a 78 year old lady so anyone can do this. Great explanation Sir but your machine is not cleaned properly. Wow!

Thanks for the warning not to do this very often, for fear of stripping the screws AND the plastic.

Thanks very much for the sharing. I just used it today. I was worried about how to clean it and get it back to the package for a move. Now I know how to do it!

I actually bought two of these and use them often now as part of my pro-cleaning business. Mostly they work great for me as a final step on plush carpets, carpets I've already thoroughly cleaned using high-power extractors. Also great to spot-clean especially for re-appearing stains that benefit from the warm-air-blower feature. Not practical at all for cleaning large areas though, with that tiny solution-tank. But for cleaning large areas, you can pre-spray carpet with a pump-up garden-sprayer, using any quality extraction detergent or encapsulating cleaning product. One major caution however; This Hoover brush-roller is VERY aggressive and should be used at right-angles when cleaning carpet edges and borders. Otherwise it can loosen and damage already-worn carpeting marginally attached to tack-strip! I'm actually going to install two switches in my Powerdash unit to control the vac and brush motors separately.

If you have a sink with a detachable sprayer. You can just rinse it clean holding it brush side down into the sink. Right when your done cleaning your carpet it all rinses off.

Does the brush roll cover come off without removing the screws that hold the brush in place? Thank you for your video. ❤

Very hard - if not impossible - to clean inside the plastic housing where dog hair collects dusty gunk and will not rinse out. It's the permanently sealed-on plastic housing under the removable clear plastic "nozzle cover." I used the sink sprayer, a pipe cleaner, and used a plastic straw sliced down the side and slipped up into the very narrow flat opening where all this gunk collects.

All I could do is slightly push the hairy gunk around then spray into it again, pushing in the direction it should drain out. It doesn't come out, no way so far to get the plastic housing clean.

This cleaner does a great job, but it is impossible to properly clean.

Also the tank does not completely empty, so mold grows in it. Leave the tank cover open to help avoid this.

But why couldn't they place the emptying hole on a spot where it could drain completely instead of near the corner on a flat spot where it's impossible to completely empty the tank?

I’m at the part where you’re talking about not using a garden hose. 😰 That’s how I’ve been cleaning mine since I bought it! 😅. So far so good. The Father is good.

Thank you! Love this carpet cleaner, especially for $40, so worth it! But it's not exactly the easiest to clean after use. But hey $40 is worth the cleaning!

Is there a way to clean the water basin. No matter how much I vacuum there is always hair and once it gets in the basin I'm having the hardest time cleaning it out. I can reach most by going in through the orange stopper and I can get a lot more by putting it up the bottom two access points but there has to be a way to take the top off without breaking the plastic. I'm just afraid that is what I would inadvertently do if I pull. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the video! How do you remove dust that is stuck in the plastic rectangular piece that fits over the brush roll?
