What is Vought’s One True Goal?
In the show Stan Edgar famously tells Homelander (heroes are not the product, they are a pharmaceutical company)
This is much different in the comics where Vought’s main goal is to get Supes into the military for that sweet defense contract money
Their first attempt is during the Vietnam War with the first iteration of Payback, led by Soldier Boy
But when that experiment ends in complete failure, Vought turns to playing politics, using the money generated by the newly formed Seven to slowly buy influence
This eventually pays off when they are able to install Victor K Neuman, former CEO of Vought as VP on the Republican ticket, leaving only one person standing in the way of achieving their goal
