tell me you know nothing about Nietzsche without telling me you know nothing about Nietzsche

The errors of great men are venerable because they are more fruitful than the truths of little men. - Nietzsche

Nietzsche (pronounced Knee-cha) was not a nihilist, he didn’t get syphilis from a brothel and he never broke down in the street after witnessing a horse getting whipped. All great geniuses are misunderstood by the masses.

1. You're pronouncing Nietzsche incorrectly
2. Nietzsche wasn't "anti God." He had a lot of respect for Christ, but thought the church corrupted the religion before it ever had a chance
3. He didn't have a "nihilistic worldview." He, like everyone else not in denial, acknowledged we live in a nihilistic universe. Nearly all of his writings are dedicated to what we can possibly do to overcome this fact without religion (given religion's increasingly apparent lack of validity)
4. A much more likely explanation for his last words are that he, despite having a towering intellect, still knew nothing in comparison to the mysteries of life and the universe. It could also have been a reflection on how scrambled his mind had become relative to its former glory.

Why are Christians so insistant on spreading these myths that great intellectuals throughout history said at the very end they were wrong about everything? Not a single one of these stories checks out. These Christians would rather lie than convert people into denial by honest means.

Have a lot of respect for JMC, but why are Christian culture and preachers always trying to invalidate history's intellectuals? Maybe "Mother I am dumb" is like Socrates sayin "the only thing I know is that I know nothing." Maybe not, maybe he DID go mad, but I still think its strange that every Christian leader with microphone tends to slander and historical intellectual that challenges there worldview. I get you disagree, but there tends to be an insecurity there, like you NEED to disprove their worldview because the contradiction unsettles your own conclusions... (the new atheists do the same thing too).

Mother Mary came to plead for his soul before God at the very end.
