Kind crazy how tens of millions of kids played these games but they are impossible to find today.

If only Nintendo had any idea how badly we would love them to re-release the old games into the switch….

When I was a kid, my grandmother always told me "Keep all those Nintendo games you like so much, they'll be worth a lot of money in 20 years."

Oh how I should have listened.

Watching this made me really, REALLY happy I decided to buy a copy of Emerald for $25 that my local GameStop put out when they were clearing out their old inventory back in 2017. I almost thought it wasn’t worth it back then…

My sister and I were big pokemon fans when we were young. We had a system that when a new game would come out, she would get one version and I would get the other (and they were so cheap back then).

Oh my goodness this video hits home so accurately. Literally went through everything this dude just described in the beginning. You did so good at that.

Emulating is an easy good option, but nothing beats playing on a genuine console.

I’ve been frantically collecting the older games the past few years because I know for a fact that they’re gonna be impossible to come by someday soon. I know I can just emulate them, BUUUUT it’s just super cool being able to see the actual physical form. So far out of the DS and GBA games, I’ve got both Black 2 and white 2 in box, black in box without the manual, cartridge only platinum, complete in box soul silver, emerald, and Saphire. I’ve also been trying to collect them to go through the hell of completing the black 2 National Pokédex 😭
Edit: fixed spelling

It would be nice if the old Pokémon games make their way to Nintendo Switch Online.

I remember the days going to a GameStop and buying pokemon Emerald for $27.99 and Fire Red for $17.99. Good times...

Nothing more toxic and disgusting than a Pokemon reseller🤮

I just picked up a copy of Pokémon Yellow sealed yesterday and it’s the highlight of my collection along with Gold.

This is why emulating is entirely justifiable. If you want the same feeling of a console just run them of them on a modded console. I personally have every single Pokémon game from gens 1-7 on a single modded 2ds and it’s great! And I even can even move everything into bank as well! (Yes you can slo just download bank and run it that’s what I did.) to transfer gens 3-4 Pokémon takes some know how with pk hex as the original transfer methods require either a physical cartridge or another console.

I'm so happy I still have my old copy of Platinum from 2009. I still have my old save file from 2009 which has tons of cherished memories, from when I migrated the Kanto starters from my copy of Firered which I sadly lost, used the action replay for various cheats like getting all the pokemon, trading/battling with friends on Fridays during free time in middle school, etc. And because of those cherished memories, I don't even wanna delete it despite having had the urge to replay Platinum. Looks like emulation it is then...

I have like 2 boxes filled with Gamecube Games that right now would be worth anything from 50-150 dollars each. So I have like 5k dollars in case of an emergency. Physical Games were always a good investment, specially when they are Nintendo games, those ones can get expensive.

The first two generations brand new in box are still little over a hundred USD or less. Generation three to five is when the prices start to go to orbit.
