I think Grusch is being honest, I think he believes what he’s saying.

I think what has happened is that a cottage industry of UFO enthusiasts within the military and ex-military, has gotten his ear. I think a lot of these people also earnestly believe, and it’s why they are so convincing.

I can imagine Grusch trying to get read-in on some special access program tasked with the recovery and reverse engineering of crafts and technologies, and he was refused. These are programs for things like Chinese and Russian tech, and so is highly sensitive, secretive and possibly “illegal”. Grusch has simply misidentified these programs as dealing with either inter-dimensional beings or extra terrestrial beings that have advanced technological capabilities. And he believes this because he’s been talking to this cult of UFO enthusiasts.

I think the most tragic possibility is that he’s been set up as “the perfect whistleblower” by these guys (Melon, Greer, Elizondo, etc)

Maybe it’s just good old fashioned proselytising- they believe and so they want others to believe, or they just want 10 more series of Skin Walker ranch, and burgeoning new UAP industry of books and talks and interviews.

Astronaut Edgar Mitchell confirmed that the US military has UFO Alien
wreckage in Unacknowledged Special Access Programs not known to Congress
when he met with JCS Admiral Tom Wilson in 2002. Astro Physicist Eric
Davies also confirmed this when he met with Wilson in 2003 and recorded
their conversation now called the Wilson Memo documents. Mitchell when
on Larry King live TV to confirm this actually happened. Wilson was also
denied access to this Ultra secret program and threatened to stay
silent.

Some people at NASA will have a lot to explain. This "public meeting" and "task force" will not age well. The managers of the commission, they are not being honest, and the participants are both biased and alienated. This will not age well at all.
