I’ve spent the better part of a decade buying the latest and greatest prospecting tools and equipment and I want to save you money if you’re starting this hobby from scratch.

It’s easy when you first start wanting to buy everything you can that comes in kits and with marketing the way it is today bombarding you with promises that sometimes can never be obtained, it’s hard knowing where to start.

This is a basic list with some of the best products on the market today. Everything you’re about to see will cost you between $150-$200! That may seem like a lot, but I’m telling you, so many people make the same mistakes buying all of these unnecessary products that eventually sit on a shelf never to be seen again. This is by far the best list and right price you’ll ever find!

I promise, with these products and at a place that has gold, you’ll crush it and find that sweet nectar!

Welcome to prospecting and I hope you enjoy this video and it helps ignite a fire in you to get outside and find some gold!

My comment disappeared.
Garrett pan kit $30 is all you need to start. Talk to community members; people love to help.
I started with a hub cap on the side of the road...just get out and try it.

the rectangular buckets work best, dump you dig in, rotate it, dump out the lights, you are left with cons, I use it like a sluice, works great

Hey Stoney. I just didn't want to spend any money on this hobby. But it has become more and more.
Anyone who starts searching for gold will be brought back down to earth. A lot of work, small results.
Everything else is luck. Thanks for the info, mate ⚒👍🤠

That’s the list I’d give to a beginner. Then there is the sniping beginner, dredge beginner, metal detector beginner. You’ve got more lists to make fella😆👍

Wow my friend! Great instructional video! I’m reall happy I took your advice on the 6x24 trek sluice box. Next spring I see great prospecting and I can hardly wait. I will stay in practice with some bought material. But next year katy bar the door. As always a great, great video. Ty

Back in 2022. You did a video on prospecting rules in Washington state. Do you think you can do an update? On new rules. On high banking or dredging. I love your videos. Have a great day.

great intel and content bro! I've never purchased raw gold so I'd have to do a lot of research to make sure it's done right. But id be interested in buying it from you so I can learn to refine it and make things from it.

Where you been at bro ? Been MIA for a good min lol... Great video. Great information, everyone has their own preference when it comes to equipment. I love my super sluice pan cause the bottom is wide. Makes it much more easy for doing clean ups. Plus your able to go through so much more material faster. As for dream mat I'm not to much of a fan of it. I do like that you don't have to classify. But I'd still classify lol. Love my A51. And I know a lot of guys don't like the whole carpet and riffles thing. Mainly cause you gotta burn the carpet and pan the ashes to get the rest of the gold. Plus the riffles and carpet and mesh add extra weight. Witch sucks if your hiking. But it doesn't bother me to much.been meaning to get out to the creek soon. But I've been taking a break from prospecting this summer and just been fishing a lot lol

I got my Jobe 10" w/legs and 2" portable pump for $80. The guy never used the cheap China pump and barely, if at all, the sluice, never, apparently, got help or asked anybody questions.

Ever heard of a "poop tube" sluice? It might not have as good a percentage capture rate as a Dream Mat or some of the other rubber mats out there, but you can build a lot of "beginner" prospecting equipment out of junk. Snuffer bottle by shoving a tube into a hole drilled in the cap of a bottle, gutter sluices, kitchen strainer classifier, etc., and if you're not afraid of the weight, you can build a sluice box out of wood like the old timers any size you like for relatively cheap. You can pan with just about anything, even a shovel, if you understand the technique, but it's hard on my back and IMO the most tedious and boring way to prospect, no matter how necessary the skill is, so I avoid it as much as possible. Personally, I like Gold Hog mats and a Blue Bowl concentrator, but they're not exactly cheap. I imagine most people living on the east coast would have a very difficult time finding anything other than a speck here and there with just a pan unless they're in an area that produced good gold in the past, and they're limited to private property that they have permission to prospect. Don't forget that research is also a major part of prospecting, too.

I learn something new every time I watch your video. I’m telling you mf I have the equipment, some of which I picked up on your recommendation. And I thank you for that. I haven’t been able to get out much lately and I’m pumped about trying some of your methods on a couple of streams and a nice river soon. Any way i appreciate your tips and please keep them coming mf.

Good list but to long IMO. Two pans, one sluice and a shovel is all a beginner needs. Ten by thirty-six dream mat can be cleaned out directly into one pan. The other pan is their catch pan.
