You have sold me on the Ash Princess series. I can't wait to pick up the first one!

I picked up the Queens of Innis Lear and I am excited to read it. I'm okay with slow, and I have heard this is a slower book so I don't see that as a negative really. I also recently picked up Ash Princess, and I am excited about that one as well. I love that the whole series is out and I can binge all 3 books.

the traitor's blade series is one of my favorite fantasy series. the book is like just a brief dip into the next books in the series. they are so immersive and dark but have the most complex and meaningful relationships I have ever read about. but we all have different tastes he he

I just finished Ash Princess and LOVED it! It’s so dark, and you don’t find that in YA fantasy too often. I’m so excited to start Lady Smoke!

I've read Vicious quite a time ago and I LOVED it, but I've heard so many contrary opinions on Vengeful I still haven't touched it even though I want to, bc I don't want to be let down by it

I haven’t read Traitor’s Blade, but I loved his Spellslinger series and think you may too. It’s not overly violent at all, and there’s a squirrelcat...need I say more? 🤣

I loved the shadow and bone trilogy I want to read the crooked kingdom series next

Man you’ve really sold me on trying Ash Princess! A book made you cry?? I gotta read it (and cry too). I’m so glad the grisha series is living up to your memory bc I worry about the same thing.

I have a theory about the language in the YA book. I think we’ve been seeing an increasing amount of books written by authors who really don’t know how to write outside the YA style, likely because it’s what they read most often. But they don’t want it to be a YA book, so they throw some expletives or sex in there, and they figure that automatically makes it an adult novel, when in fact YA is more about the level and style of writing. I felt that both Red Rising and Ready Player One were examples of this also.

I'd be interested to see your final review for spellhacker. I'm interested. But skeptical

What about Deadhouse Gates? Or did you review that one already and I just missed it?

Thanks for the video! I'm going to give V.E. Schwab's books a try.

Wit the Queens of Innis Lear. I've had that EXACT same thought about two books I read in the past month. Where they were really good but it just felt so SLOW. It was hard to recommend but they were still amazing >_<

I love the Queens of Inns Lear and in my Opinion the ending definitely doesn't disappoint. It makes me so sad that the ratings are so low, especially since most of the time when I see someone review it it's basically something along the lines of "it'd not what I expected and what I wanted so I didn't like it" I think we've gotten too much to a point where a "slow" book is a "bad" book, which definitely isn't the case a lot of the time

Oh, I really can't wait to get to The Queens of Innis Lear now, it sounds fascinating!

Video idea?
I've had this thought and after looking up the Ash Princess series on Good reads I think you can relate.
Do you find it interesting that books get higher ratings thru out the series. But there are significantly less reviews/ratings?
(Assuming bc only the fans moved on with the series so they were likely to keep rating it higher)
Does that make sense?
Idk you do alot of interesting "book culture analysis" videos so If this interests you I'd love to see a video on it :)

The characters are the backbone of The Greatcoats series so if you don't like Falcio and the guys then you're not going to like books. There are lots of faults in the series as you mentioned- the conveniences, the deus ex machina, etc continues throughout but...because I adore the characters I was able to look past the faults and loved every moment of reading the series.
