I went to drive fuel tankers - all job and knock, £65k a year, 4 on 4 off. Best driving job out there.

Work for Morrisons and you don’t have to unload anything… they treat their drivers like drivers, not as unloaders.

I’ve got a class 1. Valid digi card & up to date cpc. Still seeing jobs advertised offering £12/hr. the only way I’d go back to driving is if I took home £200 per day. For an easy day. No more than 10 hrs max. Otherwise you can stick it up your arse.

See, I do this, and I'm paid to sit and chat with mates. Watch a movie and get paid to do so ..I'm new to trucking 1 year the easiest job I have ever done!

HGV class 2 starting salary 20/hr, HGV class 1 starting salary 30/hr,
and no CPC BS!
Problem solved but the question is that highly corrupted British government just won't do it. The question is, why?
Put the government on min. wage and see how fast things change.

There is also a shortage of warehouse operatives. I've never seen so many vacancies... with sign up bonuses.

That's bad to see - We always have respect and a good relationship with our regular container drivers as we know they've been up since 4am to do felixstow or southampton to midlands run up to us for 8.30am.

With 40 footers we always give them an approx unloading time - that can be over the 3hrs with heavy handball out, but we let them know when the heavy ones are, or the quick ones at 2hrs so they can get their heads down.

Also always offer them use of facilities / free coffee machine etc if they need.

We are small independent company though - I guess easy to see how the big corporates don't care.

Good vids too, thanks Jay - been subscribed for some time. Cheers

£8.91 an hour in Scotland. for 60hour weeks. That's why no one wants to do it here.
Absolute disgrace.
We've got a shortage here yet the government aren't willing to help people get through their tests, would rather get cheaper employment from elsewhere.

4/12 hrs I waited at Morrisons. I got a split break and was able to do 4 ...15s in a week. Happy days. Watched Netflix. Fell asleep. Had coffee. Cooked my dinner. Best job ever. 😂🎉

I’ve almost had this issue, I’m currently working for Culina and ASN number wasn’t working with customer number 3 hrs and 30 minutes in total it was only in West Midlands 2 weeks ago.

I agree. At least 6 times I've given up trying to deliver to Tesco. You're lucky of they ever answer the bell at the gate

It’s my favourite thing about the job. Straight on that bunk 😴

The likes of Tesco and the others are just using you as extra storage whilst they load outbound trucks then unload you once space is made...I could never do RDC work the shit you guys have to put up with is a joke

I'm not arguing but from my perspective as a manager, I can barely run a shift with the staff I have, and when that container or HGV doesn't arrive on time or arrives whenever he wants because it doesn't have an allocated time slot, it all becomes a bit difficult and frustrating.

I seemply cannot understand how aneyone could possibly turn down a job where, not only can one work twice as long as others for less money, but also risk losing it all in fines if one makes the seemplest of misstake !!!
