I've been on Plaquenil for about 7yrs. I have been taking 200 mg and then increased to 400 mgs. I see my eye specialist s twice a year. Once for normal vision test for eyeglasses. The 2nd is for tests done to spot any kind of damage or poison to my eyes from Plaquenil. My Rheumatologist requests copies of the test once done. If they don't receive a copy of the results. They can or will stop any refills needed for Plaquenil. I also have Answer Grid Vision Test to test my eyes at home. The eye specialist gave it to me. So I can check myself . This last visit I was told reduce my Plaquenil once I'm feeling better from 400 mg to 200 mg. Which is one a day. I didn't any vision damage. Thankfully.
Since I'm older now and just got placed on Methotrexate the risk is much higher. Exactly as Dr Tran stated

With plaquenil in recent headlines regarding covid, it is very thoughtful of you to make this informative video for us. Thank you Dr. Tran!

So basically when dr detects any change, it's alredy too late for your vision to ever be the same as before. I don't know. I have primary SS and I am going to try to prolong this and hope for the new med dazodalibep.
