Elvis didn’t have a racist bone in his body. He has been so terribly “misrepresented” as a racist and nothing could be further from the truth. My wife and I (a mixed couple) are so happy that Jamal and other younger folks can finally appreciate Elvis incredible gentle wonderful and one of the most humble entertainers EVER in the music industry. The “haters” should listen to what the back up singers said about him and how wonderful he was to them. The numerous black entertainers that he helped sometimes without the media knowing about it. The fact that he wouldn’t stay in hotels where the women couldn’t stay due to segregation. The very fact that he had black back up singers spoke VOLUMES about his belief about equality. God Bless Elvis FOREVER. The Breen’s.

The only man who would stop in the middle of a Las Vegas show and belt out a gospel song that would light the Holy Spirit in everyone❤❤❤

I don't know where people get the idea that Elvis was His first interactions musically were with African Americans and he always had black back up singers. The man was NOT racist ✌

Simply the greatest artist in the universe. Charisma, vocal technique, sensuality, stage mastery. All in one artist.

It makes me cry to think about how many people took advantage of Elvis Presley but he had a humble forgiving heart.

Elvis was the true definition of color blind. He grew up a poor kid, first in Tupelo, Ms, then Memphis. He was always drawn to gospel music in the churches and hung out with black musicians in the area, he admired & respected them tremendously.

Good for you Jamel the negative crap can stay away... The crap about Elvis being a racist is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. When he played at the Houston astrodome They wanted to drive Elvis and the band around the area to wave at the fans, but they did not want the sweet inspirations to be out there. Elvis refused to do it unless they went out with him. Just one of many story's of how he really was. Not to mention paying for several Black Musicians funerals that had fell on hard times Etc Etc Elvis was one very humble generous man

I was born in 1953 so I grew up in the Elvis era. We fought that racism battle and we won. The people crying racism today are little babies and don’t know what they are talking about. Accusing Elvis of being a racist is just plain stupidity. He was definitely on the right side of history on that subject. It really makes me sad. I guess that people who think that way really want The Sound of Silence or The day The Music Died!! Gheez.
Thank you for your Reactions and don’t listen to ignorant people and just keep sharing your music reactions 😘 Elvis had a real conversion and loved the Lord Jesus Christ. The reason he didn’t like to be called the King is because he believed Jesus was The King. Thank you for making the world a better place with your Reaction Videos. You are a joy to watch every day

Whittney Houston's mom was one of his backup singers.
I think Elvis knew his talent was given to him by God. He wanted to display it to his best capacity to show God how much he appreciated it. ❤

I'm glad that you ignore the negative comments about Elvis and race. We're all flawed and he wasn't perfect, but he was no racist. People that think Elvis was racist or that Elvis "stole" Black music are ignorant. Black music (which was called 'Race' music back in the 50s) could not get played on powerful, high-wattage radio stations back then because of the prejudices of the times. Elvis went to blues bars in Memphis as a teenager and loved artists like BB King and James Brown. Elvis brought the music of Black artists like Big Mama Thornton.

'TAN' magazine was similar to 'Ebony' back in the 50s and it's Black writers said this at the time: “Presley makes no secret of his respect for the negroes, nor of their influence on his singing. Furthermore, he does not shun them, either in public or private." When Elvis toured with Black back-up singers, he refused to do concerts or stay in towns in the South that were overtly racist. He once told a concert promoter in one town, "If they don't sing, I don't sing." In Houston, he refused to go out and greet the crowd without the Sweet Inspirations.

“I thank God for Elvis Presley. I thank the Lord for sending Elvis to open that door so I could walk down the road, you understand?” commented his contemporary Little Richard in 1970. James Brown said, "I wasn't just a fan; I was his brother."

… And Elvis was way ahead of his time, considering black people and white people the same. So many black people in his day admired him and spoke up for him. Sammy Davis Junior… James Brown… So many more loved him. There are also some great interviews with some of his black back up singers... the internal struggles he had are just like ours, only magnified because of his position. There, but by the grace of God go all of us.

He was very humble and gave credit to all his backups! He enjoyed listening to their voices so much! Saw the sweets in person what voices they had!

I believe with all my heart that Elvis would be completely and severely hurt by those accusing him of being racist. That would be the last thing on earth that he would want to be accused of.
