RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.

Kerry Livgren is a musical genius when it comes to orchestration and symphonics. None of his music is overbearing or muddied. He knows how to cook a good stew so you can taste all the ingredients.

I had that album in high school. I played every song about 100 times. I had every lyric memorized. Kansas songs were almost like a spiritual awakening. This band was ahead of it’s time.

Steve Walsh's vocal abilities is somewhere not from this universe...

The instrumental bit in the middle is a fugue which goes back to the 1700s. Some people call them rounds.
You start a series of notes and 2/3 through another series begins that is similar but not the same and over and over again forming layers. In this song different instruments add texture to the sound.

Jethro Tull does some good things with fugue and Gentle giant might be the best at it. Queen does it on the Prophet's song with Freddie Mercury singing the parts.

I know this has become a cliche, but Phil Ehart was a criminally underrated and under appreciated drummer. So many Kansas tunes are a testament to his enormous talent, this one being a prime example. One of the best behind a kit in all of prog.

Probably my favorite Kansas song. So classically oriented and majestic.
Great reaction guys!!!

This song is what I heard when my brother was playing the album for the first time. I was 11 and just came home from baseball practice. I stood in my tracks still wearing my glove. I was so blown away. Kansas IS the real deal.

I think this song and "The Wall" are actually the two best songs Kerry Livgren wrote for this record. I have loved it since I first bought the album back in my college days.

Being a teenager in the 70's, I went to so many concerts. I saw all the great bands except for Led Zep and Floyd. Kansas, I always said, was the greatest band I ever saw LIVE. The energy Steve Walsh had onstage was unmatched. It was like watching a gymnast perform on Keyboards and singing with one of ROCK's greatest vocals. I don't know who is left from the original Kansas, but it should be a high energy show. Enjoy my friends. Jeff

For 45 years I have gone back and forth as to whether this song or Song For America is my favorite Kansas song. I still can't decide.

One of the top 10 Rick bands of all time! And criminally underrated.

Interesting fact:
They were the opening act for Queen when they were just getting started.

Freddie Mercury and the band quickly took to watching their set and became huge fans of the band.

Jeez, this one reminds me of driving my 66 Chevelle SS 396 on cruise night back in the day. Wish I could afford the same car

Kansas was one of the first rock concerts that I saw, back in the 70s. Awesome band. Kerry Livgren is such a great composer, guitarist and keyboardist. And Steve Walsh is one of my favourite vocalists. They are a great band and are very underappreciated.
