THE STORY OF THE GREEN LINE

Kypros, a Greek-Cypriot soldier gets sent to the “green line” of Nicosia to serve in the place of a comrade, who had been killed because he had entered no-man’s land. Pretty quickly he discovers that Murat, a soldier from the opposing side, is actually living in his own family home. Just like Kypros, he too is a refugee. War has forced both of them to dislocate; Kypros from the north to the south and Murat from the south to the north. When Murat goes back to his village on leave, he returns bringing him a present from his home, a family photograph, which shocks Kypros’. Murat discovers Kypros’ secret love for his Turkish-Cypriot neighbour Gul, whom he thought that the war had forever taken away from his life, and he proposes that the two lads take a secret trip, each on the “other side”. Kypros accepts without considering the consequences.

It looks from the trailer that it is a great love story. I can't wait to see this film when it comes to America. Bravo Panicos Chrysanthou. It looks like a nice film !!!

As Nicosian, this is very, very difficult to watch. Panicos Chrysanthou and his films are always provoking. If art is provokation, he is doing it good. I wish for more discussions to arise from this film.

Is there any chance there'll be a digital release of the film on any platform? I missed the screenings in Cyprus and I really would like to watch it.
