Love the Halloween look of your porch! Mummies were so cute! FYI-Last year I read an article about why Mums sometimes don't last. They are a cooler weather plant and here in Southern California October can be very hot. So I waited until it was a little cooler to buy some!😊

TIP: Invest in really good quality plastic plants that give you mum colors. These can be pricey but if you get 1-2 at a time and build your collection over a couple years, I promise it’s worth it time & effort wise….. but with one condition. I don’t suggest some of these for areas outside that get intense prolonged sun. If you’re skimping a little bit on quality due to price (these are not your Dollar General ones), the less expensive versions can often mean cheaper (thinner) plastic. Those will fade with really strong UV light after one season. I learned this the hard way when I was searching for a way to do vibrant outdoor decor that didn’t require me to keep up with watering potted Fall mums every day.

Outside of that, plastic is fantastic, especially for super busy Moms who have a ton of Fall activities going on and little time to decorate when you’ve got young kiddos but still want the house looking fabulous all the way through Thanksgiving.

Again, it’s an investment, so choose wisely and trust me, there is a way to do this classy, not trashy.
