Do they offer natural prep laxatives to prep routines for these procedures yet? Most of the chemicals you're given are all companies being sued for negligent malpractice at this point.

The disadvantages?
If a polyp is found, you have to have a regular colonoscopy to go in to remove it.
That means, you have to go through colon prep (horrible) twice.
Also, you are zapped with some radiation, right?
I have heard that virtual colonoscopy is not as accurate as a regular colonoscopy. You can’t actually inside like a regular colonoscopy.

I would rather have this as an option than the actual colonoscopy that my GP wants me to have under general anaesthetic.

Worried about the bowl prep i suffer from acid refux will that make it worse plus i have high blood pressure suppose to have one done this Monday.

The big mistake these claimers always make is comparing the amount of radiation to what is normally received environmentally over a year, but this exposure is concentrated over less than 10 minutes.

The only thing she got wrong is the sedation. A colonoscopy does NOT require sedation. Some doctors won't do it without, but I can assure you there are plenty that will do it without sedation. There's no medical reason to use sedation, it's been studied over and over and pain levels are between 2.5-3, and the procedure takes far less time without sedation, and you can drive yourself home.

Not much better than regular colonoscopy - its about time the medical field developed a less invasive procedure for checking the colon !

The small tube only goes as far as the rectum.. and it pumps air in. It only takes a short while and you're on your way.. .

i had one of theses last monday 21st i was fine going in but gas pumped in my rectum o whoo stomach cramps they gave me busacpan injection and contrast dye injection they told me my eyes may go blur for short time after the busacpan injection and i been feeling gross since feeling sick since kinda of dizzy loss of appite and bowel prep was vile never a gain and they warned me of perperation that could happen but unlikly but that was fine phew if i knew befor hand would never of had it done and dont recomend it and was thinking maybe i had a reaction to the dye contrast :(

1) There’s a DNA blood test for colon cancer cells . No fasting, just a regular 1-tube arm draw. Extremely accurate, can detect even if there’s no polyps yet. Ask your doctor for it, they don’t know! 🙀🤑🤬 And 2) the Mail-in poop kits are getting more accurate all the time. Tell your doctor to START with one of these FIRST. YOU have to be your own educated consumer!

I had a regular colonoscopy yesterday..had to stop due to pain and looping in my left upper ileum..they are sending me for one of these now..I've hear it's just as painful..and if they send me moviprep again then there is no way I'm going.. any advice would be greatly appreciated x

Had one in the UK
I had a restricted Colon and to push past it they pumped more gas in even though I was screaming in pain and shouting stop
With a loud whoosh it pasted the restricted part and after came out from my mouth leaving a massive lump in my left side
Now I get heart pain and can feel pressure under my left arm
They refuse to look or help and my life is bad
It hurts to breath too
I went back for help but they ridiculed me saying it can't stretch your diaphragm or displace your heart its all IBS
No one will help I trusted the NHS not now
