Qreative Collective

As part of a two year Combine to Create residency with Findhorn Bay Arts (part of the Culture Collective programme) spanning 2021 - 23, I established the Qreative Collective; a creative group for LGBTQ+ teens aged 13 - 18 years in Moray.

Based on one year of researching what was available and meeting young people across schools in Elgin, Lossiemouth, Forres, and Aberlour, I set up a group focusing on regular meet ups for young LGBTQ+ teens. The aims of the group were:
- reclaiming spaces in our towns and natural environment as young, queer people
- creating a safe space for young people to get together and get to know each other
- provide free, creative activities as a means of fostering creativity and encouraging self expression
- offering free transport to every workshop location and holding each workshop in different parts of Moray to ensure inclusivity and accessibility
- fostering a neurodiverse friendly environment
